Finally settled in

I know you’ve heard this story before– family is about to leave the island, session is rained out, family holds back their clothes from the pack out and is living at the Westpac, the rain will not quit before their plane leaves. What do we do? I guess we shoot in the rain! Not bad for having to hide out under awnings and race out only between rain storms!

Anyhow, since we were cutting it so close, I had their wall art send directly to their new address. From what I’ve heard, it sounds like their move has not gone quite as smoothly as they had hoped, but they’re finally in their new house. And what’s the first thing they hung? She told me that they always hang their welcome sign first when they are making a new home. But they broke tradition this time and these had to go up first!

I always miss seeing the final results displayed together when I drop ship the canvases. Thanks for sending a snapshot of your wall!

Another Okinawan Story

These two came out to have fun and it shows!

J admits that she wasn’t overjoyed at first moving to Okinawa, but the place has a way of growing on you and now she can’t imagine leaving any of this behind. So, we set out to do a session that would capture all the little things that made Okinawa home for them. We have a ferris wheel, vending machines, amusing signs, the seawall, and the huge jacks– all part of what they affectionately call “the concrete jungle.”

I had such a great time that morning. They were up for anything and everything. Thanks for coming out, you two. I hope you’re settling into your new place nicely. Best of luck to you!

Sneak Peek

These two just love each other. See!:)

All Before Breakfast

My last session with the S family as they too are on their way off of sunny Okinawa! We had to try to cram this session in before O’s soccer game that morning at 9am and a second session I had to run to by 9:30. Whew! But not only did we make it in record time, we had tons of fun and came up with a fantastic gallery! I’ve said before that sometimes just the perfect combination of weather, moods, personalities, and a little luck come together for some awesome results! Plus, they already knew the drill from their previous session up there in the header of this very blog!

If we can ride this wave just a little bit longer, the canvases will be here in time for them to enjoy for a few days before they send them off to decorate their new home. I hope they make it because I want a peek at their home before they pack out!
